Mapping and Monitoring Mineral Deposit sites using Airborne Laser Scanning System (LiDAR).
This project targets mineral extractive sites and potential mineral deposit sites. The programmes is planned to ensure that maximum benefit is derived from nature’s resources. LiDAR - Light Detection and Ranging is an airborne remote sensing technique commonly used in mineral survey missions. Highly accurate height measurements of the site will be captured by using a survey aircraft equipped with a system of lasers (LiDAR). Using the blue sky height data and images derived from LiDaR a photo realistic 3D digital terrain model of the sites are created, giving accurate information to make informed decisions on mining quantities.
